Call me a sucker (call me whatever you want really) but I really dig the way old finishes age wether it's drums, guitars, an old bannister...it just gives things a look of experience.
I guess that's why I'm never a big fan of re wraps...unless it's totally unavoidable.
Here's two more. Bought the Gretsch's as project. Bad rewrap from the '80's. Cracked big time, peeling, bubbled. Surprised, they were done by a big-name vintage author's shop.They also changed the spurs and added {gasp} a Pearl mount! In the process of stripping them now. They're going to be the most aged looking WMP I can find! The Ludwig's are practically unfaded, just for a comparo. They'd never left the guy's home until I got them. Really like them too, just in a different way...

Not sure. Looking for an older looking WMP. Yellowing would be appreciated. any suggestions, or sources? Thanks, Bill D.
