White Ludwig Vistalite drum value

Loading...

Hey, I have am looking at a white Vistalite kit that comes with a 14x22 kick, 12 and 13 rack toms. It is missing the floor tom. What would be a good price for these? How hard would it be to find a white Vistalite floor tom without costing an arm and a leg? The drums look like they are in great condition!

Did Ludwig make white Vistalites? It doesn't look any different than White Cortex to me.

Are you able to verify they are Vistalite shells?

I'm not sure about the floor tom. I'm not up on Vistalite prices and availability. Hopefully others chime in.

Yes, they are Vistalites for sure...acrylic shells. I actually ended up buying them...too good of a price to pass up. Some of the hardware is not original...hoops, tom mounts but they are no cracks and overall, in pretty good condition. Here are some more pics.

Maybe the lack of responses adds credence to the old saying: "If you can't say something good ............................etc."?

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

What do they sound Like? compared with regular wood..are they brighter?

Not sure you'd have to find a White FT; I'd settle for a black (or blue or..) if the price was right- just to keep the same Sonic properties. What are the Sound properties of the vistalite; it's been a while

White vistalite drums were difficult to sell back in the day. So much so the factory chrome wrapped some kits, you find chrome on vistalite out there. Personally I would say they are the least valuable of the vistalite range.

White Vistalites came at the end of the "Vistalite days" I think.

They're scarce, so adding to the set may not be too easy.

I see 8 lug white vistalite snare drums once in a while.

Folks at Ludwig told me they're late 70's vintage.

Thanks for the info. I haven't really got to tune them up yet, so I can't comment on how they sound. Like I said, I got a great deal on them though :)
