Definately one of mine too !!

Technically you could put the BD with pedal and clapper from 1906 Sonor add a snare and call it !!

I like to refere to drum kits as have`n a FT. The party kits are an era of their own to me !!

Then there`s the Island kits made at home and they knew what they were doing !! At what point do you call a row of bongo`s a kit ?

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Does anyone happen to know what the oldest, existing drum set is? How old would it have to be to THE oldest? I'm not talking about hollow logs thousands of years ago....DOH..... I'm talking about a sit-down set of drums that is played with both hands and feet.It would almost certainly HAVE to be Ludwig...right?

Are we still talking about a set that still exists ??

:)

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Well WFL senior invented the proper speed king in 1909 so he must have added that to the "drum set"(trap set) which I thought was around since the 1890's but a drum set with tunable toms was not available as far as I know until 1936 when slingerland made them on special request for Gene Krupa. Everyone started making full sets after that....

Nice! That's exactly what we're talking about: an EXISTING drum set. Now, does anybody know which is the oldest drum set IN EXISTENCE?

There are pictures of Sonny Greer, with Duke Ellington, c. 1930 ,with a 5 piece Leedy kit; tunable toms-----floor tom included. He was playing a 3 piece with a mounted tom in the early 20's, with the Washingtonions.
