Hey folks. I listed this in the vintage drum section because of the ludwig strainer, but it looks more like it might be a pearl stencil snare. Any ideas of make or year?
What type of snare is this?
70's Silvertone - 20,12,14, 14Sn Blue Sparkle
60's No Name MIJ - 20,12,14 Red Sparkle
70's Yamaha (YD?) - 20,12,13,16 Red Ripple
Looks like a Star drum to me.
90% of the time, a knurled snare bead is Brass. Is it ?

I wish I knew. Going to look at it later today. I have no other info on it, and the person listed it as a ludwig drum, so I doubt they know much about it either.

Bring a small fridge magnet, if it don`t stick to it, get it.

HMM it´s not STAR i think! The lugs look like Rogers.

I think it is an MIJ product, but nothing special.

So if it is a jupiter, it definitely is not in super condition. What kind of a value would you put on it?

Pretty hard to tell from those fuzzy pics. It's in non original condition, but those snares aren't really collectable anyway.Definately under 100,I'd say more like 75-80 bucks US.They're a really solid ,and can be a great sounding work horse of a snare, and a bargian for a COB shell.
