What are the rarest Slingerland wraps/finishes from th 60's-70's?

As to the tom mount, it was Slingerland's first double-tom mount, the 171. It was a failure, as the toms tended to droop down on each side.-Mark

I concur on the 171 tom mount but it would not be expected on what the seller is claiming to be a '69 kit. Should be a Set-O-Matic.

Those beautiful denim drums. Looks great under stage lights. Also very rugged.

Hey DB! Are you referring to those wonderful Aztec wraps?!!! I'd also like to add Sparkling Purple Pearl to the list of somewhat rare finishes from the early 70's. Here's my kit set up in two different configurations.-Mark

Damn, I forgot purple sparkle! If you ever decide to part with that purple set Mark, you know who to call first. They're awesome. But, you can keep those Slingerland stands. I have bad memories of those snare, hi-hat and cymbal stands wearing out and collapsing on gigs. Wing nuts on the bottom was just a bad idea. As was a leather strap on the bass drum pedal. That crapped out on a gig too.

As far as the Aztec finishes, we'll have to agree to disagree. LOL.

There's a Yellow Tiger kit on eBay right now... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Slingerland-Vintage-YELLOW-TIGER-PEARL-Drum-Set-Zildjian-cymbals-1969/303304840002Yes, it's a rare finish, but I'm just don't think it's $3000 rare! Am I wrong?-Mark

I've been watching that set on Ebay. I think the seller is nuts. $3000? No.

Wonderful pics and info, thanks.

The white tiger kit on Goodwill is at $701, from searching around the net regarding value that seems low.

What would be a fair price?

We'll find out in several days. Note that condition appears a bit rough. Looks like significant yellowing of wrap and plenty of missing parts. All of that will affect price. Still neat early 70's drums.
