If it's a WFL with no extra holes I guess it's a Festival. It originally came with a P83. The same drum with a WFL Classic strainer in mahogany is a Concerto. If it's a Ludwig, it's a School Festival with a P83, & a Symphonic with a Classic strainer.

I've used the rail mounts on those older kits, way off to the side. Feels weird, but sometimes changes up my playing in a good way..........marko

In a non-mic'd scenario, a non ported bass drum sounds great to me, especially when playing in a blues/classic country or jazz setting. But, in the funk band, it just has too much boom and a ported head is the way to go.. for me at least. Nothing wrong with either way though.

I'll keep the ported head when we use a soundman, they freak out when they don't see a hole for the mic. Eye Ball Amatures!
