Makes sense Vintagemore. Dunnett makes some killer drums, but I can see the new Geo H Way not sounding anything like the old ones...same for the new Leedy and all of that. I don't think that is the goal though. I think (at least in Dunnett's case) that he is just continuing on a great legacy with a top quality product, and I think that is rad either way. Im sure we agree on that.

I am definitely all about the old stuff sound wise (and especially since the new ones are so expensive), but I would love to check one out in person anyway just to see. Probably wouldn't buy one though. There are too many old drums out there waiting to be saved. Plus I just prefer the older stuff across the board. Thats why I am not into DW. Either way...there is no argument here. We both like what we like and that is totally cool by me! Guitar Dude Man

Ok. Back to this guys project.

I have no experience in person with Camco or Geo H Way drums so I am going to stay out of this and let the people with the knowledge get this project on track!

<< Wow, how cool is that-- as a newb, I got my thread hijacked, contributed mightily to the start of a flame war in a totally different thread, and the forum Vets even apologized!... I love this place!! >>

BTW: I'd like to post pics relative to this thread (said George Way project) as well as pics of my other vintage kits... Can somebody tell me the most appropriate way/place to do that? (i.e.: should the pics be linked from a descriptive signature, etc.??)

Thanks!

PS: I don't even OWN any DW's!

gellman...the pink champ sparkle would look very cool on those. I am a fan of this color as under lights it will be fantastic. And I like the look of it anyway. As for the shell/head fit, there are ways to make it and work arounds. First tho....get those pix up! We are a touchy-feely bunch, and I can't touch what I can't see.....see what I mean? The Camco hw would look amazing with it.

Jeg, all you have to do to post pics is this: Click on the little paper clip on the toolbar of this window and a manage attachments window will pop up. There will be a list of different types of file types with the size allowed to post, or you can scroll down below this window and click the manage attachments button, or you can upload your pics to a photo hosting site such as photo bucket and copy and paste the link to your pic on photo bucket. The last way your pics will show up on here larger and it doesnt matter how big they are. There is a forum on the forum's home page called Drum Image gallery for posting pics of completed kits.

This forum is the best!!!! Keep coming back!
