Mikey - All of the above! They are torn, worn and all of them need to be reskinned. I won't be able to rehab the 11" tom because of some missing T-rod parts that are impossible to replace. I'm starting with the 14", then I'll do the 13" and I'm leaving the 16" for last because it is such a spectacular drum. I want the 16" to be the icing on the cake.

Been pulling tacks all afternoon. My fingers/hands are still sore as hell from rehabbing the bass drum, but I'm pressing on.

I'll post some photos shortly of the inside of the 14" I'm working on.

Scott - The parts that are broken are two of the T-handle rods. I'll have to post photos for you, but essentially the T-rod is the receiver part (hollow, internally threaded) and mates to the lug which is a long screw. I've never seen anything like them anywhere. I'll post up some shots for you tomorrow.

Mike - LOL... Bev cuts my hair, or what's left of it anyway. I'm really thinning out on top! My beard is always close-cropped and the fashion show you see is; grey gym pants that tie around the waist, my house slippers (that are flannel-lined moccasins) and a warm cotton pull-over that I wear around the house. When Bev took the shot while I was working, I said, 'No, don't take pictures I look like a bum!' I have to tell her you think I was 'over-dressed' for the occasion! :D

*Correction: The tom I'm working on is (12" deep)x14" and not 14"x14" as I wrote in an earlier post.

Greg - All,

This is a photo of the weird hardware set-up on these drums. I've never encountered a lug and T-rod system like this on any other drums. Works fine though, the snare and bass drum tuned right up no muss, no fuss.

The second shot is of the unusually wide re-ring used on the batter side of the shell. I thought Radio Kings had w-i-d-e re-rings, but this thing takes the Blue Ribbon!
