Thank you. It did. Sometimes we have a need to focus on ourselves and go through a time of ickyness. So long as those moments are brief, no harm done. It's what I call "getting fleshy". It's a spirit thing.
Vintage Slingerland white marine pearl
To update, Michael sold them to a member in Australia or New Zealand, can't remember which. He got a fair deal, and so did the buyer. Just thought everyone would like to know they are going to one of our own.

I'm very much in touch with moments of ickyness, I hear you mcjnic. Great news about the sale of these drums, thanks for sharing. I guess it won't surprise you guys that I bought a similar import WMP Slingerland from the 80's with a 24" bass drum. It also came with a 1930's Radio king (positively ID'd by Stan at Pro Drum Shop Hollywood, not me :) ) as old as my Dad! My Dad built my first kit out of Slingerland WMP tenor drums and a huge marching bass drum from his Bagpipe band. He added floor tom legs to the tenor drums and I had a premier chrome snare drum and a small cymbal with rivets from a Muppet's drum set. I'm serious! Camber high hats (ouch). Anyway just looking at the Slingerland I have now makes me happy, and it does sound great. One day I'll buy a real vintage Sling I guess. I hope I can get advice from you on a late 50's or 60's premier I will be posting pictures of soon. Thanks for all the info on the Slingerland artist custom kit.
Actually I think after we estimated the shipping the guy from New Zealand didn't respond. So I still have the kit. Now with that said I've really been studying these kits for the past 2 months and maybe I would even say I wouldn't mind trading this kit for a snare or I would still be interested in selling. I really appreciate all the help guys I love drums and I love talking about drums.
I've got to tell you...if I was looking for a nice gigging kit, I would take these off your hands. I'm not, though. They sound nice. That snare is unbelievably cool. It's so sensitive. Don't rock it, though. It's more of a soft touch snare. Outstanding for jazz and small combo work. There's got to be somebody on this forum that could use a cool gigging kit on the cheap. This kit sounds better than the Gretsch luan kits and even a bit better than the birch or maple imports. I sincerely wish you luck on selling it or trading for it. The guys here are purists (for the most part) and tend to shy away from imports.......but.......we all need that gigging kit we don't mind banging around with. This would fit the bill perfectly.
Hello,
I am sorry that I ask an irrelevant question.
I want this beautiful wrap to re-wrap my drumkit.
PercisionDrum Co has sky Blue pearl wrap that is perhaps refers to the
70's Slingerland color.
But I think it is too blue!!
Do not you know the place where the wrap like that photograph is sold?
Hey Supraphonic, I got your PM but your mailbox is full.
Gents, how can you tell this is a import slingy, I have a set that looks idenital to this kit, and it was said to have been bought at the niles factory in 1970, its also white pearl, curious how you guys see this from a pic???
70's Pearl Fiberglass Ivory
Reread the posts. It's pretty much spelled out.
Here's a larger import Slingy kit from Guitar Center for 199. Nice shape. These things just don't go for much and yet they have a pretty good sound for gigging. Check 'em out.
