Vintage Slingerland white marine pearl

I'll second what mcjnic is saying. See that Pearl type tom mount with the big Mickey Mouse ears? Import from the 90s. And the WMP is clearly modern.

Still, yeah, I'd keep this as a gigging kit, if it was me. Or, if I saw it on CL for cheap, I'd snag it because I'm into Slingerland and never heard an Artist Custom kit and the sizes are right.

Well Like I said earlier I have a great kit already. So I'd still like to sell it. So as far as how much it's worth??

Well they did use that mount on the Arkansas drums as well.....I know this for a fact as I re-wrapped one for a friend a few years ago and it had the Arkansas badge. So we are in agreement that its not truely a vintage kit per-se, but it is still a nice kit.

Fair enough. Don't think I've ever seen an Arkansas kit up close and personal. Learn something new every day. :D

So, as I invited this young man to our humble home, let's see if we can get him an honest, unadulterated value, shall we? What say yee of the Slingerland tilt?

My guess would be between 300 and 500. You might get more from someone who is unaware or uninformed...but that's really about it. I've got to tell you...this kit looks very nice. But, you have to compare it apples to apples. A used comparable Gretsch import kit would net about the same...as would a used comparable Mapex...etc.

I think theres need for more pics. I would like to see the insides, bass drum spurs, close ups of the badges. Also the snare looks like it was drilled for a muffler, when did they stop using mufflers?

The Buddy snare was a strainer to badge side by side panel arrangement. The HSS Artist series had a panel in between the strainer and the badge - like this snare. The manufacturing ques previously mentioned point this kit to either the Artist series or the Spirit series. The Spirit series did not offer this finish. It was available for the Artist series. This small chip WMP was not introduced until the 80's. Under Slingerland (the family), only large chip pearls were used. This kit could not have been made prior to the 80's without updating the hardware and putting on a new wrap.

Like ME! Ha!

My first "vintage" kit was a Rogers R-380 that I paid about $400 for, because it was a Rogers. *bows head in shame, shame, shame*
