I had one floor tom, the snare, and the bass for years and could never find the missing rack tom. Then it popped up on ebay with a bonus floor tom.
Are US Mercuries worth anything? These are 3ply.
Not sure of the value, but man are those sharp.
How do you put a value on those? We here have knowledge as to their history of being "budget" drums, but how many are left-in that condition? In some instances the hardware is so spindly they'd be virtually unplayable in a gigging situation. If those were in my house, set up, I could NOT walk past them without playing them...So I have no answer to their value, but it's not up there with the big names, or even their budget lines. Maybe-MAYBE $500 under perfect circumstances.
Un-be-lie-va-ble.
If someone would have stated, that you would come to the chance of finding those matching drums ... I'd place a bet that this would NEVER EVER happen, with THIS special wrap. So: congratulations !
This Gold Agate Pearl is so rare and special - and I do have a soft spot for it. So my personal suggest for a price can't be serious. I've seen just one other Gold Agate Pearl set: at the Pearl's forum. That post was from Japan and was done some years ago.
Nevertheless your kit is Star (= pre-Tama) made and I wouldn't sell it for less than US-$ 500 (unless you need the money now).

(NB: Thanks for the pic - I'll exchange it at my website soon!)
Yeah, I got lucky yet again (same luck happened when a Fantasia snare popped up)...many times I wanted to give in and sell it as a three piece, but it was too cool of a wrap to give up on.
Just good timing. I hadn't looked for about a month and the first search for "tiger stripe drum" scored big time.
The rack tom and spare floor tom cleaned up pretty well thanks to all the cleaning suggestions from the forum. A long soaking in Dawn did wonders for the chrome, in terms of minor rust and grime. Still some minor pitting, but not noticeable unless you're right up on it.
Here's a few more angles:
nice set surfcollector
do not know much about these so this goes out to Ralf.
Are you saying U.S.Mercury is a brand of Star?
Yep. If the Mercury badge looks like this, it is a Star made stencil kit.

Totally LOVE that wrap!Patience is a very good quality when collecting drums.Just when you're about to give up.........wait a little longer.
Very nice set..! What are the sizes?
20 X 14 bass
5.5 X 14 snare
9 X 13 tom
16 X 15 floor toms
I'm not sure all of these are "common" sizes. I personally don't recall a lot of 5.5" snares. And certainly the 15" deep floor tom is a bit odd...
