That finish is really something else. I always felt the Japanese had an edge over the domestics when it came to some of the wraps!

From surfcollector

Yeah, I got lucky yet again (same luck happened when a Fantasia snare popped up)...many times I wanted to give in and sell it as a three piece, but it was too cool of a wrap to give up on. Just good timing. I hadn't looked for about a month and the first search for "tiger stripe drum" scored big time. The rack tom and spare floor tom cleaned up pretty well thanks to all the cleaning suggestions from the forum. A long soaking in Dawn did wonders for the chrome, in terms of minor rust and grime. Still some minor pitting, but not noticeable unless you're right up on it.Here's a few more angles:

Cooked Egg ...you make me sick!...but I still love you!

Now, take one of those 9 ply kits, give it an appropriate Gretsch edge, and make some serious tunage! I can, and am willing to tutor, anyone to make the edges they want. However, you must, and I insist on this, be willing and able to do it BY HAND, with sandpaper. You all know what it's about, now, let's show 'em what a $,EU, 50 kit CAN sound like, not what it can't.
