Tribute Drum Last viewed: 3 hours ago

That drum s nothing short of stunning. Grab some orphans and complete that kit! An entire set of those would be a show piece worthy of a museum. Great job on that. B52's and fighters, I love it! That had to be a custom made wrap. I've never seen anything like it.

Too many great drums to list here!

Thanks so much for the kind words, John. I've already got some wooden hoops on the way to replace the metal ones currently on the drum. Building a complete kit is certainly a possibility. Wishing you nothing but the best with your health issues.

That's absolutely beautiful. My dad was also in WW11, he was a medic on Guadalcanal. He never spoke with me about his time there, only to make a few derogatory comments about the Japanese soldiers. They were indeed the greatest generation.

Thanks, Johnny. Yes, they were!

That has to be the coolest looking bass drum I've ever seen! What a wonderful tribute to your parents. I'm sure they were as proud of you, as you were of them.

I like the idea that John had to build a full set, if you decided to.

I think about the things those men endured then and it sometimes brings a tear to my eye. And to think, most of them were just kids during the war.

Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the kind words. As johnnyringo stated, definitely this country's "Greatest Generation".

I mentioned that a couple pages back!! He could use a different custom wrap pertaining to his family for each drum...

Cheers
