Picked up these today. Just oozing mojo. They'd been his dad's. Cruise ship drummer, etc. Chrome is immaculate. Even got an extra longrail spade with them. Slingy cymbal stand and an unknown one. Ludwig anchor. Great old canvas bags. The band logos are fun. Stamped NOV 64. If anybody's got a really yellowed floor tom, I'm in the market. Not

concerned about a perfect match, gonna gig these bad boys!......

BTW, the guy said since they'll need work, they were $50.00. Yes. I offered more. He turned it down. He even loaded them for me, as I am one week postop from spinal surgery and can't lift more then 10 lbs. I thanked him.......

Charlie and the Tuna's, I can remember when they were just known as Charlie.

Nice find. Would you be willing to share the serial number? Should be 5-digit, first two numbers will suffice (e.g. 52xxx).

52753. Date stamp in the bass is Nov 64. Haven't pulled heads on the 12" tom. No vent hole, no badge, as was common then.

Very good, serial and date align nicely. A couple small observations on the BD: The 2-bolt rail consolette would not be expected in late '64 (would typically be the 4-bolt). The standard position for the cymbal mount was on the drummers right. The left side cymbal mount was an option. Very common to see only a mount on the right or both a left and a right, yours is interesting as there is only one and on the drummers left.

Date mark is clear. NOV64. The rail is definitely original. No extra holes. Maybe added when new. Even got a second spade mount, with the extra long shaft. The cymbal mount up top will good for a BR style splash! 12"/20".

Is that some sort of electrical wire laying on the top of the bass drum? It doesn't look like a crack. Proper installation of the proper type of cymbal mount on the player's right hand side shouldn't diminish the authenticity of the drums. Nice going, Crash.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
