Proper installation of the proper type of cymbal mount on the player's right hand side shouldn't diminish the authenticity of the drums. Nice going, Crash.

No one questioned the authenticity of the drums, my apologies if it was interpreted that way. I was simply pointing out some unexpected/uncommon details that appear to be original to this particular set.

And, I took your comment in the spirit you intended it to be taken. What I'm saying is that a right side cymbal receiver of the correct type, when installed properly would not be recognized as an addition if the drum set's owner did not point it out. Would adding that item be any more upsetting to a couple of people than changing out the shorter tom holder rod for the longer one?

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Here's an inside pic of the rail mount and cymbal mount. Looks to be factory. All fasteners match up.

Is that some sort of electrical wire laying on the top of the bass drum? It doesn't look like a crack. Proper installation of the proper type of cymbal mount on the player's right hand side shouldn't diminish the authenticity of the drums. Nice going, Crash.

It's a strip of cloth that was for muffling. I'm ok with using a floor cymbal stand for the ride. I kinda worry about the security of a 21" on an L-arm. Will use the L for a splash, tho.....
