Methodic Doubt:

In Cartesian philosophy (Rene' Descartes), a way of searching for certainty by systematically, though tentatively, doubting everything.

I will save you from this doubt when you awaken. FYI. You do have a 1966 Rogers Headliner in blue sparkle pearl. See attached.

Here is my "58"ish Eagle Badge kit I picked up to save.

It was re-wrapped when I got it and the wrap was toast.

All 3 drums have matching tags and close numbers.

So I wrapped it in a Rootbeer type Pearl wrap but with-in a year started to bubble from a reaction to the glue I believe. So I really wanted to wrap it in Silver Glass but it was going to cost more than the drum would be worth.

I decided to match the snare which has an natural outer ply of Walnut.

I coated the snare with a natural lacquer and matched as close as possible the remaining 2 drums with a walnut stain. I guess I will call it my Rogers Walnut Eagle badge player kit. I left the Rootbeer pearl inlays on the bass drum hoops, they seem to go well with the stain. Sorry for long explanation.

Wayne!

Kudos with the walnut stain. They look great! Any cracking of the B&B lugs?

Thanks Mark

Several in great shape.

Some starting to show hairline cracks but most overall good shape.

Replaced 2 on the snare that were bad with some original ones I found.

Unfortunately the parts are worth more than the kit as is but hate parting out so they are what they are. Early 2 hole swivos in great shape.

Amazing that the majority of your lugs are crack-free! The early 2-hole Swivo arm is cool!

This is an incredibly cool looking kit! Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but did you reverse the tom mount, or is that how it was designed for this configuration? I've never seen that before.

Ditto on both counts.

Nice looking set. Leaving the inlay worked nicely too.

And an unusual way of positioning the tom arm, though that is the way the early double tom mounts are arranged because one side is round to meet the bass mount and the other hex to meet the tom mount. A matter of preference, I guess, as either way works.

I noticed this as well! Rogers did it this way with early Swivo arms. In this instance, it may just be the way he wants them...or may not be aware that it is backwards, since it functions equally well in both directions! However, my OCD is begging to have it turned around! LoLoLoLo

Almost like a Starlite or Skyline outfit made for the snare to be collet mounted, but with the in line collets in the center is puzzling me.

I think the ride collet would be in the right position where it’s at, but not sure.
