What a deal those are beautiful drums, is that an 18" tom?

Yes, great drums in Bonham sizes, well except for the kick, its a 24" But toms are 10x14, 16x16 and 16x18.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Wow those are very cool,I didn't know that they came in that finish

Somebody on here, Mikey perhaps, suggested there were only a small number made--14 if I recall

I did a bit of resto on a Martin Fibes kit from the 70's back in the first part of this year for a friend of mine.

Let me see if I can find some pics. :)

Actually what Mikey said was more about how many Frosted kits he knew of:

Hey Patrick,Cool set yes these are hard to come by its the second rarest finish for the 70's Fibes drums you can fine..

With your set that makes 8 set's that i know about..

I got the one i have way back is 1989 at a drum shop in cal for 150.00 its a 24",13",14",monted toms.16",18" floor toms..

My recently rehabed Fibes Fiberglass.

The entire set was in Chrome that was in bad shape so I went with Gloss white from Precision DrumCo and another vendor on Ebay.

The kit is: 8x12, 9 x 13, 16 x16x Floor tom, and a 14 x 22 bass.

The 10 x 14" tom is a a TEMPUS Fiberglass.

The snare drums are: 5.5 x 14 Chrome with an aftermarket strainer,

a Ming 6 x 14 Fiberglass, and

a FrankenFibes 6 x 14 resurrected.

I've been looking for the Fibes Fiberglass 6 x 14 snare for a while and found a shell only with marginal Chrome.

I stripped the shell and recovered in a white gloss wrap, added a RCK strainer and plate, Puresound snare wires, a black batter hoop and a black nickel snare hoop, and black lugs. ( I will eventually get a black nickel hoop for the batter side..I like the look better).

The batter head is a Fiberskyn and the snare head is a clear. Both are from Billy Blast Drums in So. California

My long term plan is to have the bearings edges reworked on most of the Fibes drums. The Tempus is in excellent condition.

The cymbals are all Paiste 2002:

15 Sound Edge Hi Hats

16" Medium

18" Medium

20" Ride

20" China

Cheers!

Good luck on that ,most woodworkers won't touch fiberglass.
