And Concert Toms.........
This Is the Display Your Blaemire Drums Thread
Thanks to Mr. Jerry Jenkins
I waited YEARS for these. The drums are wrapped in black cortex and they sport 60's Ludwig lugs and hardware. I have two snares with the kit, one is a green-glass snare with the Blaemire logo that my buddy Jerry swapped me for a 10" rack tom that I got with the kit. I don't like, or play small toms so it was a win/win for Jerry to score a rare size Blaemire tom and for me to get a snare that Jerry made for the kit. The second snare is a J&M deep-dish in orange. I treasure my Blaemires. I get all nostalgic every time I see Allan's tags and Jerry's badges on those drums. I can't think, or talk about these drums without feeling the loss of Jerry. When I got the kit Jerry knew how much it meant to me to finally own a Blaemire kit so he gifted me that really cool logo for my bass drum head. God I miss that guy. R.I.P. buddy we all love you and keep you alive in our thoughts and our hearts.
Enjoy the photos.

Let me preface my reply with this statement:
After completing this beast of a project and posting pics,
one guy said "Why?" .....and........ that is totally understandable.
The drum was started by Andy Florio in the 60's.
He died before he could finish it.
He got to the snare beds and that was it.
I found it in a closet in Pro Drum Shop and took it as a challenge to complete.
So....that said, it is 9X18, 10 lugs.
Well.....I wanted a challenge......I got one.
Thanks to Mr. Jerry Jenkins

To add to this Florio/Blaemire story, this entire lot of shells was also found stored away at Pro Drum Shop, all nested in one case. From 6" to 18", wrapped in red wrap, with the Florio label in most of them. I ended up with 80% of the shells, which I built my kit from. Cool1
Blaemire / Jenkins-Martin drums.

JC, I was just reading your thread on the Rogers XP8 Koa re-wrap.Such good work man.The Level Sealer is great stuff.A lot of work getting those pin holes covered.A lot of coats AND...sanding.But WOW man. Your finish is like glass.I love your attention to detail.OK. Enough of that for now. Back to the Fiberglass. So that is a BIG snare drum isn't it?Not a green shell. An old amber shell with many defects in it.I tinted it Ruby Red to keep it un-wrapped and to hide the dog hairs and dust in the resin.FYI: I have a lot of Blaemires.
Thanks for the compliments! I sure miss those XP8's.
Thank you!
