The MIJ Guide - Gathering Info -

Loading...

I'm in the process of restoring an (to me) unknown MIJ kit, although judging by the hardware I suspect it's a non-Star Hoshino, although who knows. Longjohn thought it might be that, but rebranded by a long-defunct Sydney music shop as "Jason".

So far just the 22" BD, but I have the shell of the 13" rack. No FT sadly. The badges are long gone, although there is a pennant-shaped glue residue above the air vent. Never seen a pennant-shaped badge that size (Kawai & Sons had a similar badge, but it was much larger and went the other way). Might be a bit difficult to see in the pics, I had to resize them to upload. No idea what this drum is, but definitely MIJ and possibly one to tax your mind ArchXangel, and maybe add to the list if we can identify it! I'd love to know what the hell this is!!

Cheers,

Trev

Oh, and a funny place to put the air vent, don't you reckon? I'll try to upload a better pic of the glue residue later. :D

Here we go, a relatively decent pic of the badge residue. Any ideas, Gentlemen?

I have posted this before, several months ago when I first started the resto. Previous owner had spray-painted everything black and silver, but it's come up pretty good.

Anyway, ArchXangel, this is probably not helping you with your quest, but certainly a mystery worthy of investigation!

Cheers,

Trev :)
