Jumping2 for joy, id say you hit the jack pot, on a hi end your kit is valued 1600 plus, more than you would think with prices jumping for pristine kits some day it will be worth its weight now play it and enjoy that ludwig sound.....

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Ok-i`ll enter my guess as to what you paid for it and i`ll say $450.and heck i`d pay a hundred more than that for that size to complete a set like yours.Like someone already said"your set just doubled in value" so it was a great investment no matter how much you paid for it.Ok now-we`re all curious here and don`t mean to be pushy, but how close are we in our price guesses?

those cob hoops are a nice bonus. many of them had gone to steel hoops by that date. that's gonna be quite the kit jeff. would love to see a pic of them all together when you get time.

Thanks again guys for your input. Now I know I got a good deal. I called the person last night just to see if they still had it after 12 hours of being posted. They did have it and offered to ship it, I could not believe it! But I had to sleep on the decision of whether or not to buy it. Well that didn't work out to good, I woke up at 3 AM and couldn't get it off my mind, I thought I had blown my opportunity, thinking someone else probably bought it after I got off the phone. Well, I called right away this morning at 8 AM and sure enough he still had it. I'm so excited about it. I'm gonna remove those base hoops and re-paint the black on them.

Thanks for chiming in and sharing my joy!

Cant wait! The only other club date drums I have seen were on ebay and they were like 12-1500, if memory serves me correctly.

Thank you!

Welcome to the SBP club!

I felt the same way when I found a matching snare for my pre-serial SBP kit. (Thank you Mike Layton!!!) After waiting three years for that floor tom, I wouldn't have hesitated. I'm really glad it didn't get away from you! Makes for a happy ending.

Enjoy them! Beautiful drums.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Hey Mike, you bet I will have pics! The seller was just a great guy, he even shipped it out today! Now I have to check and see if my hoops are brass, I cant remember, its been so long I haven't done anything with them. I was about to give up and sell what I had.

Thank you!

Jeff - that is too damn funny! Been there a few times, sleeplessly fantasizing about a kit that I can't get to for a few days. Had a CD SBP pre-serial kit last week I drove an hour each way to get ... kept waking up at 4-5AM for a few days, very annoyingly!

There's always the angel on one shoulder, the devil on the other, whispering all kinds of thoughts about that kit. "O, it's very beautiful!" "Better get your a$$ in that car before someone else does!" "It's a stand-up seller. He'll hold it for you." "Better scramble at first light, buster! Offer a nickel more to cinch the deal."

Sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it - chris
