The day has come! Last viewed: 4 seconds ago

Ok, those of you that know me are aware I have been searching for a floor tom for my sky blue pearl club date kit. The drum has been located, it only took three years and a great deal of luck. I was "killing time" the other day waiting for my wife. I went on Craigs List and searched Ludwig. There it was! So any how, I am excited to get this drum, it is a 14" clubdate in perfect condition, chrome over brass hoops, 1965 date stamp. Check out the pics!

Thank you!

Thank you guys! So what would be a good price? I already paid for it, just wondered if I paid too much? One of those drums you may never see again. I'm curious to know what others would have paid for it. Its in really nice condition!

I'd consider in the $400 range to be acceptable. But you have it & the search is done ... so how much is that worth to you? A lot I'd wager. You also mentioned it's perfect. If it were me & a CL listing I'd want to get it for 200-300. There are so many variables for seller & buyer - seller especially - that no 2 sales are alike.

Anyway, congrats & enjoy the completed kit! Chris

Your drum set just doubled in collector's value by adding that 14" floor tom. So, I would venture to say that, if the completed set is now worth $1500, someone would have paid as much as $750 for that one drum. Notice.....I said "someone"--not me--probably not you either--but "someone" would have done that. I agree with the earlier estimate of a top dollar I'd spend on it to complete the set would be $400.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Congratulations! I love seeing posts like this. For something you waited 3 years to find, I'm not sure you could ever pay too much.
