Sweetness: 82/83 Pearl MX WMP

Loading...

Just scored a real beauty- sounds just perfect, resonant and true- 6 ply maple shells. The WMP wrap has faded quite a bit with the years and is quite mellow. Got this for a great price shipped down from Tokyo. You dig? I DIG big. 10,12,13,16,22

Yes, the former owner re-lugged the bass drum... Luckily, it was very well done, no extra holes and they are Pearl and all matching. The hoop claws and long bolts are modern as well. I have to say it is an improvement- these claws have rubber inner gasket/linings which protect these nice hoops well in the years to come. I bought this as a functional tour kit for cases and vans so it's primary need is to be functional- I still wanted "vintage" but to go with a vintage kit too much older than early 80s risks things snapping off under high tension I thought ( I tune high sometimes ) on stage. I was very psyched to find this in WMP - the early 80s saw such a huge decline in those classic wraps as folks opted for solids and metallics so often.

The inner shells and edges on these are in really good shape- I was happy about that. Thanks for your commentsWelcome
