Spitfire (Louie Bellson)

From FredixDrums

This shell was pre-drilled for 12 "Sound King" lugs when I got it!Thanks for watching!Fred

I don't know about having 12 lugs on a non-marching snare, but that amount of chrome looks really great on that shell. I am tempted to buy one of those shells now. Very, very slick looking drum.

Hi, I have 3 spitfires now. two are 5" by 14" and one is 5.5" by 14".

My favorite size is 5" by 14". The sound is very crisp and clear. Perfect when I play my drum solos.Clapping Happy2

Thanks,

Stunning,… That shiny chrome against the raw un-lacquered shell !!!I bet it sounds amazing!Congratulations.

Yes, the sound is amazing...! When I saw this shell on ebay I imagined how it would look like to dress this baby in Chrome Jump For Joy

4 vent holes (including badge hole) had to be drilled though...and all the holes for TDR-strainer and butt plate and tone controller!

Spitfires of brass is my favorite choice when playing drum solosThe Band

Hot diggity! The chrome pops off the ol' copper. Love those lugs!B

The contrast created by these two metals was for me a fascinating experience. And I have always loved copper very much! Now I saw an opportunity to use it in my project.

Thanks for watching!

Very nice indeed. Apparently the Spitfire is a 12 lug snare by design. I did not know that. (spoken like Johnny Carson to add a touch of humor)
