You can find henk daily at sonormuseum.com in the old sonor threads.

He pops in here often though. He has a huge vintage sonor collection and restores things that people would throw away.

I'll look into it this weekend, really can't see what's wrong with it. (on the video).

Have to think about it.

Shell depth of 4,5" isn't unusual.

Wow, Henk, thank You! The one in the video isn't mine - but the one I have works just the same. I guess I'd better make a video of it, I'm probably missing something.

Hi, I finally managed to make a video of the strainer. It's kinda blurry, but I hope that You can see that the mechanism slides to a final position but there's still space between the wires and the head.

I gave up on this drum. Had it lying on a shelf and looking all sad.

Then an idea struck me. It's not the most elegant of all solutions, but it works! I got rid of the original wires, which were longer and had hooks to attach to the strainer mechanism, got a regular set and simply attached it with strings tied around the moving mechanism ends. It's sloppy, but it allows the strainer to be just the right bit closer to the head and I can finally work it all right.

I got puresound snares on the drum, just need to get fresh heads and I think I'll start gigging this thing! Yes Sir
