The Puresound wires made for Slingerland clam shell strainers is the closest so far. The overall length of the Puresounds is 15 7/8", that fits between the throw off and butt linkage but its too tight. Need a wire that is more like 15" in total length with one hole in the center for the screw. Please help, lol!
Do you have the original wires? I believe the ends could be soldered onto different wires if jigged up in a rigid jig. That's gonna be a tough one.
I used some Pearl brand ones I found at a local music store. They were some old ones and I had to drill the holes in them but seemed to work. I will see if I can find the Pearl number as I think I still have the package. Will dig the package out of storage next week
No Tom we dont have any original wires. I think we are going to make some spacers to spread the strainer and butt apart allowing the Puresond wires to work. The spacers could be removed if a set of original wires were ever located. Sure would like to see a set of the originals but apparently nobody has them to show us. I just want to make the drum playable, right now its pretty much a boat anchor.
The other thought is to have wires custom made, or cut down a new set. Anyone ever attempt that?
Looking at snare wires for Tama ImperialStar snare drums.
Could anyone that has one give the overall length, please?
These have been discontinued by Puresound, but maybe some spares are out there if they might work?
Thanks
Kev

The store label was the only thing on the package and it said Pearl SO25 so assume that is a Pearl part number.

I have been thinking about attempting to shorten a set of puresound wires. Could make something to hold the wires and keep the spacing easy enough, it would be the soldering part that would be tricky. Maybe our singer/plumber could do it. The wires made for the Radio Kings would work if they were 1/2" shorter. Could practice on a cheep set I suppose.

Hi Kev,
Which drum are you referring to? The King Beat with parallel mechanism?
