Not a great picture, gloomy day here in Illinois.

Thank you!

Almost done, just need to clean the rods and put on the heads. I purchased a Gibralter 3 point throw off, she looks good.

Anyone have a recommendation for wires, its a 15" drum?

Thank you!

Hey Jeff!

A fantastic restoration! As to snare wires, there's always Puresound. Fatcat offers a 15" set of wires for drums with deep beds. Your drum probably qualifies. Canopus makes excellent Slingerland-style wires, but I just saw that they don't offer a 15" version. Bummer!

Longjohn, thanks so much, great to hear from you.

Mark, thank you as well. Do the wires need to be 15"? And when you say 15" will they actually be 14.5"? I measured some of my 14" snares and they come out around 13 1/2".

Because you dont want wires that are actually 15" long because that wont work, right?

Thank you!

Jeff,

You're correct about the length of the wires. A 15" set will have about the same amount of space across the bottom as a 14" set.

Thanks Mark, do you think I could get away with 14" wires?

Hey Jeff!

Actually, you can get away with the 14" wires. However, if you just need an inexpensive set of wires, that sound good, you can go with these generic 15" wires from DFD... https://www.drumfactorydirect.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_104_374_75&products_id=2441

I have a set of these wires and just measured them... 14.25" end-to-end.

Jeff! You're welcome!

Your repair jobs are always first-rate! The inexpensive 15" wires will at least fit, sound good, and get the drum completed.
