it plays and sounds good but i want to find all the original parts and get this back to original. but i dont know if i should wrap it or keep it this color and i dont knoe if this is the way it was made or if it did have a wrap and some one took it off.
Larry,
That is a cloud badge and I'm guessing that drum is mid-30's to early 40's. If the outside edge of the badge is raised, it's definitely the later version of that badge. Those are streamline or "cigar" lugs. That drum would be a candidate for a rewrap, since you will have to plug the extra holes, in my opinion.
To find all the parts, you are going to spend a pretty penny...Those parts are getting harder to find. What size is it and can you show a picture of the inside?
The Slingerland book by Rob Cook is a very good reference guide...
More than likely this is a 30's radio king, and BBK was correct the parts won't be cheap!!singer
how do i find them i need a bottom rim 14" 8 hole and one of the side plates. and should i wrap it. do yall think at one time there might have been a wrap on it?
Grab a tape and measure across the top and tell us what it is.
Let's move the rest of this to your other post in the restoration area.

If your looking to wrap it check the diameter painted or stained shells were close to size if you add a wrap heads might not go on.

Hi I have the snare guide[[side plates]] that i will sell..Also far as the rim they show up from time to time on ebay they sell for 75.00 and up each..P.M. me if you like..Mikey
Funny. My 1940's Hollywood Ace Radio King has the exact same stupid replacement throw and butt that some dork put on with the exact same extra holes. Sure makes me mad!
I need to stop buying drums all the time so that I can get some bucks to buy the original parts for mine! I will be watching this to see exactly what I will need to do when it comes time!
My drum sounds SO good as is..I can't imagine how great it is going to sound when I get around to fixing it up.
Best of luck on your project! You are gonna love it!
