Check out ebay item #400258310460 looks like the same wrap. Ad says 70's but looks like early tom mount on the bass. Gold/black badges. Nice set and a 20" bass drum. Sorry couldn't post the ebay link. $1199 BIN.

Thank you for all of the help identifying this set, is the set still worth anything if it is missing that bass? That set that you listed above looks almost identical to mine, but not the Avante. The mounting hardware all looks the same. It is my dad's set, and he started gigging out again after a 20 year hiatis. He is looking to get a different set, because he doesn't want to take that out gigging, so he is using my new Mapex kit.

What bass drum does the set have now that's in the pics? Newer Slingerland or?? I haven't seen a good copy of that wrap that anyone offers. It's a cool color. Perhaps you can have someone airbrush that type of pattern using the other drums for color and pattern flow onto the bass drum and use a satin clear finish to cover it. Not the best solution but might work on a temp basis. If not keep the faith and keep looking for a matching bass. Pretty cool your Dad is out playing again after 20 years.

The bass drum is actually a ludwig marching bass, that someone attached the slingerland hardware to. It is not ideal, and sounds like crap. This was done before my dad got the set in like '75. The finish on the bass is acutally automotive candy paint that my grandpa had laying around when my dad got the set. I guess that it worked.
