Slingerland Muffler Assemblies

I just measured the two. They seem to be the same hole spacing. I can't see a company like Slingerland changing the hole spacing and ending up with lots of parts they can't use. That would be very out of character for Bud. He was such a bottom line kind of guy. Anyway, the holes appear to be the same. I wouldn't sweat it.

If you would like, I could swap the two on my snares just to make sure.

If you've got silver/black badges then you've got the larger knobs. Drilled holes should be the same, only the knobs were changed, the rest of the assembly was the same.

Actually, I just swapped out two snare muff works. The small head did not fit on the big head works. That one surprised me. The hole mounts were the same. Just don't count on swapping the heads. They may work and they may not. Mine did not.

Also, here's a tip...

Sometimes, those head screw thingys sit tilted against the shell or the screw threads stick way out. I put some nylon spacers between the washer and the head screw thingy and it solved that. The nylon spacers are the thick white ones that you get with Yamaha wood hoops. They are great for this kind of project. I've used them elsewhere, too.
