Vinny have you tried selling them as a complete kit? For me the wrap wrinkles and yellow paint are not show stoppers. Not everything has to be 100% pristine. Cool drums.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

first off try very hard to not change the environment, as the flux in temp and humidity changes, will constantly distort the wrap, good find and good luck

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

From vintage drum bug

Sorry but it has way too many issues...The paint, the wrinkling on the wrap. Specially the wrinkling. I tried but its beyond my skills...

Who`s gonna buy a FT that is near impossible to match up to ? Sell the whole kit.

There's two member interested on the floor tom already..Im keeping one of the toms. The wrap on the bass drum is badly cracked pretty much on every lug. I'd say the wrap on the bass drum is beyond repair. That and the painting makes it very hard to sell as a whole set.

Man this is depressing. A kit with blemishes is still a matching kit. I understand though. I sell stuff too on occasion. And it's all worth more in parts. I guess it just depends on what part of the hobby your into. Maybe I'm a bit extreme. I'm trying to keep kits of lesser stature together with blemishes.lol

I know...But Slingerland parts aren't worth much nowadays. I really dont know why. They're as good as any other old american drum company. I dont have a choice on this set. Those pictures you see at the beginning of this thread are fooling you maybe, The bass drum wrap wrinkled badly (I kept them on cases on a temperature controled room). It is beyond repair. It cracked from top to bottom. The toms are the best ones. and Im keeping one. Im heartbroken about this too. Sorry guys.

Sure. Anything can be done. I just dont have the time and I have at least another 10 sets with issues but not this bad. If soemone wants the whole kit . Ill sell it for $500.00 plus shipping. Keep in mind that the bass drum wrap cracked from top to bottom.

This set of drums can be saved. It would take a Jack Lawton to do it, but it can be saved. Black wrap is very forgiving when it comes to repairs. Using modern seam sealers, 'some' repairs are invisible. That set is way too rare to be broken up and sold off without trying to find a sale that will keep it together. It will never have great resale value because of the needed repairs, but once it's all fixed up, somebody will have a wonderful set of drums with a very rare finish. They just need lots of TLC. I'd really hate to see them broken up and sold off piece-meal.

Anybody? $500 is not a bad price for what it is. Somebody save this kit!

John

Too many great drums to list here!
