That would bring us closer to the Buddy Rich TDR. Which had 3 vent holes..

Here is a good reference for the different years of snare drums for Slingerland

That drum is usually over $250 - $400 or more depending on condition and the hoops.

The pictures of these drumsets and snares are fascinating! I had no idea there was so much history on these sets. Again, I'm a guitarist fascinated with drums, so my knowledge is pretty limited ;)

Hello all, I have some new information regarding my buddy's snare drum. It definitely has 3 vent holes. It's got 10 tuning lugs all the way around, serial number is 513831.

Might this be a good thing?

I have a set of niles sliver black and the badges serials are in the 169000s . i thought they would be seventy four-ish. after reading this i think i might be mistaking. please advise
