The last drummer was with the band for 15+ years. They looked for somebody who could fill the spot without altering the sound of the band too much. I am the guy. I'm 'old-school' and they have told me over and over that they love playing with me, I'm a good fit for the band. If you heard us today, it wouldn't be much different than what is there on the vid. I'm actually looking forward to getting a gig videotaped. I'd like to watch/hear myself! lol

I'm partial to "You're Gone" and "All Good Now."

The engineer was a drummer, so I went with all of his suggestions. The sound isn't quite as "live" as when I play out (usually without mics), but I'm generally satisfied.

Bass: We tried it with the front head on, but I don't have a hole and he really wanted to stick a mic in there. So we removed the front head and installed some blankets. I'll admit that he got a nice, deep thud, but that sound would get lost live and un-mic'ed.

Snare (6.5" wood TDR): Just one square of moon gel.

Toms: Didn't touch a thing. I use the toms in beats often and he got great tone and sustain.

I'm sure he futzed with the sound on the board. I like the results, but I don't discern the "personality" of the kit ... nothing stands out to me to indicate that these parts were played on a 1978-era set of Slingerlands. Still, the sound fits well with the rest of the songs, and the rest of the band is very happy with it.

Thanks for all the compliments guy's . it's great to hear all of you guy's play it's like putting a face to the name . and some of the stuff i heard was some real talent , keep em coming i want to hear more .
