This a recording I made with my last project, Zenland, from May of 2008. I'm never happy with my meter, but I love this guy Dave on guitar. Hope you enjoy.Bhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ARnpCcWFq4
You, sir are a very good drummer.

Love hearing you guys play. For some reason I thought I'd be hearing more Be-bop. Maybe later! My current band doesn't have anything up yet, but my old band out of Sweden has some stuff. The live video is kinda grainy but the studio is ok. I particularly like the bridge on "Bloodfire".The singer is semi-famous. Hasse Fröberg...lead singer for the Flowerkings.http://www.myspace.com/barrelhousesweden
Your band has some good stuff. Good playing.
Purdie-I wish I heard the band with you in it!!! Those guys put out some tasty stuff!!!
The last drummer was with the band for 15+ years. They looked for somebody who could fill the spot without altering the sound of the band too much. I am the guy. I'm 'old-school' and they have told me over and over that they love playing with me, I'm a good fit for the band. If you heard us today, it wouldn't be much different than what is there on the vid. I'm actually looking forward to getting a gig videotaped. I'd like to watch/hear myself! lol
Ain't nuttin' but da Blues, man...

Here are a few covers (I get a little excitable and the sound from a cheap video recorder is so-so):

And here are some originals we just recorded:

I'm partial to "You're Gone" and "All Good Now."
The engineer was a drummer, so I went with all of his suggestions. The sound isn't quite as "live" as when I play out (usually without mics), but I'm generally satisfied.
Bass: We tried it with the front head on, but I don't have a hole and he really wanted to stick a mic in there. So we removed the front head and installed some blankets. I'll admit that he got a nice, deep thud, but that sound would get lost live and un-mic'ed.
Snare (6.5" wood TDR): Just one square of moon gel.
Toms: Didn't touch a thing. I use the toms in beats often and he got great tone and sustain.
I'm sure he futzed with the sound on the board. I like the results, but I don't discern the "personality" of the kit ... nothing stands out to me to indicate that these parts were played on a 1978-era set of Slingerlands. Still, the sound fits well with the rest of the songs, and the rest of the band is very happy with it.

here's a link my myspace page.

there's even a silly little cover of "that" tiffany song!
it's appears that one of the songs (raining down) isn't working. i'll sort that out later.
hope you all enjoy.
Thanks for all the compliments guy's . it's great to hear all of you guy's play it's like putting a face to the name . and some of the stuff i heard was some real talent , keep em coming i want to hear more .
Some great stuff here there simply is nothing like LIVE Music... it does the body good..
Bill -> I am my own worst critic. LOL - welcome to the club! You're not alone man. I'm bad about recorded stuff. I always re-think my choices after the fact. Doesn't pay. As long as everybody else is happy, I try to ignore my own 'self-criticism'. > I tend to over think what I'm doing sometimes and that's a no, no.Only the last few years (after 48 years of playing,) I've started to trust my musical choices (what I add or take away,) more and more. As a result, I am enjoying playing in a way I haven't experienced since I was a teen-ager. I just give myself over to the groove and feed it whatever it is asking for. Staying out of my own way. I've been able to relax more and really enjoy the music almost as a remote listener would, taking it all in instead of being completely absorbed in my drumming. It's made a huge difference for me. I took the pressure off myself. I'm really having a ball playing. No grief.John
Well put, John. I think that's what ultimately occurs for me, after all the mental acrobatics.
Thanks again.
