Rogers Re-Wrap

Loading...

I've decided to go ahead and re-wrap my Rogers kit. There are cracks and bubbling in the red onyx and since I can't sell them, I'm going to make them look new again. I'd like some opinions on what finish, I've narrowed it down to silver glass glitter, gold glass glitter, green glass glitter or blue glass glitter. Thanks in advance!

If your not planning on keeping these drums then

I would suggest dropping the price another 100 dollars.

I'm not giving them away, no, I'd rather re-wrap and keep them.

I only say that, because we all know how much it can cost to do a

pro rewrap and as soon as you tell anyone it's a rewrap for some reason

the value plummets. I never understood why that is. If we wish to buy a

vintage car and it's completely restored its highly desired. I just wanted to

say that rewrapping them is not necessarily going to get them to sold.

I'm sure they would look brand new with a rewrap!

Go with the blue glass glitter. My first set was blue when I was a kid and wish I still had them

Blue Onyx would be cool and age correct, I think.

Thank you!

I recently saw a vintage Rogers set that was rewrapped in the currently available Red Onyx and they were beautiful. Why not redo them in the color they were meant to be?

The Red Onyx offered by Precision Drum is extremely close to the original Rogers' wrap. I had an original red onyx Rogers kit but the wrap on the floor tom was significantly cracked. I had them re-wrap that particular drum in their red onyx and it was a very close match.

In regard to the wraps you mentioned in your original post, if you're not going with the red onyx, I'd choose the green glass glitter. I've got a kit in that wrap and it's flat-out stunning. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Ya, I like the red onyx over the blue, however, I'd rather go with a glitter, I've always loved the Rogers glitter finish.

The only person's opinion here that matter is yours. They are your drums. Recover them a color you choose, not the colors we choose.
