Sad news. 80 years old. R.I.P.

sorry to hear this news.
I can't believe this! Mr. Watts was my idol when I was just learning to play. To this day, I hold my sticks in the same manner he did because I thought he was so very cool! Damn! I am sickened by this! Terrible! What a great talent!
Brian
We lost another drumming legend!! Thoughts and prayers to Mr. Watt`s family and friends...
RIP
Cheers
Eternal memory to a simple and kind man who has reconciled the expressive Rollings for almost 60 years ...
Back in the '80s I was purchasing some items from Master Musicians when I learned from the employee I was working with that Charlie had just purchased a three piece set of Gretsch drums from them of late 50s early 60s era (if I remember correctly) in a light color stained finish. It had signs of wear, most noticeable was a patch of damaged stain on the small tom. Sure enough, sometime in a later issue of Modern Drummer I saw that set in a photo of Charlie with that kit in concert which accompanied a feature article on him. He never wanted to detract from the 'patina' of the drums by having them restored so he played them just as he bought them, he was more concerned with having 'that great Gretsch sound'.
I’m 70 and I guess time is not on my side either
goodbye old drummer
I always liked Charlie's drumming and his natural finished Gretsch kit, much like Ringo, he played for the song. He seemed to be the most level headed in the Stones and he loved jazz. Goodbye Charlie, you will be missed.
This one hit me hard, !! R.I.P.
