Hello everyone,

What's the difference between the Remo "coated vintage emperor" and the

"coated emperor" in sound?

Can you really hear a big difference between bote?

What would Bonzo have used?

Did you really just ask, "what would Bonzo have used?"

I meant no disrespect. I put my tongue in my cheek and giggled, nothing more. It's a bit of a larf to reference Ringo or Bonham or Peart or (name the pro) when discussing drum equipment to most serious drummers. It has become a very very large joke these days (thanks to ebay) that most every Ludwig drum made was patterned for the drummer for Zep. I find it most humorous. So, take care. Your English is just fine.

But were the emperors in the 70's, the "vintage emperors" from now or not?

I said Bonzo because it's one (with a lot of other very very good drummers of course) of the populer drummers of the 70's. It was just an example.

You could have just gone here ...

There's great info on the products and even some videos demonstrating the differences.

Just about any drum set will sound good with coated emperors on the batter side and coated ambassadors and the resonant side including the bass drum I have used them on 20 inch to 26 inch bass drums and they just sound good use 4 inch felt strips on both sides of the bass and on the bottom side of a 18 inch floor tom and I think you will be happy.. I have never used the vintage ones but i did stay at a holiday inn last night .... peace
