Remo Classic Fit

More resonant than regular REMOs on this drum which has the "cut for calf" bearing edges. The tuning range has increased (especially in the low end) but this drum has a definite sweet spot.

FYI The REMO's inside diameter is 1/16 inch larger than the Aquarian American Vintage.

Got the 12" installed, tensioned and balanced with the FT. I'm very pleased and plan to install the AAV Thins on the reso side before buying more REMOs.

Never play it the same way once.

Replaced the Aquarian American Vintage Mediums with the Thins on the reso side of both toms. Has opened up the tone, resonance and response more at low volume playing levels.

Thanks for the response, Orangmi. Your description sounds perfect, both parts about the tuning and also the larger inside diameter compared to the Aquarian AVs. I've got a set of AV Mediums on the bottom of my toms at the moment, I tried them on top but preferred the sound and feel of the Remos, even though they have to be forced on and are a pain to tune. The AAVs are a better fit on my drums than standard Remos but by no means are they loose; they're still tight and don't spin freely on the shell (before putting on the hoop). Can't wait for these Remo CF heads to land down under...

Gotta say I'm loving the way these have improved the RB FT. It's never had this amount of resonance or tuning range, sounds and plays like a completely different drum!
