I would have to add as a rare wrap the elusive and controversial uncatalogued 40's Slingerland Blue Diamond pearl wrap. It was a run of Black Diamond that basically discolored. .. To a [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]gorgeous hue[/COLOR]. Here are 2 examples of the Capri Pearl and the Blue Diamond. . .. . . I just remembered a Gretsch kit of a rare wrap,probably one off. It is a WMP DUCO tobacco. . . Crazy
I don't know if this counts because I've never seen the wrap on a production kit from any factory, but, I just used the last three sheets of a discontinued Delmar wrap called, Abalone' on my Camco orphans. Coolest wrap I've seen, I'm surprised it was never used by any of the big-name companies.John
Gotta get these Camcos and Ludwigs side by side.
I purchased these a while back from John, as a 4-piece, then he gifted me a wrapped 12x8 to fill out to a Hollywood set-up. The 12 was a concert tom, so I had to stagger the lugs, but they turned out nice.
