Speaking of Slingerland, I recently saw that Chicago Music Exchange has a sweet 20/12/14 kit in Purple Sparkle. Never saw one of those in person. I secretly wanna drop $1800 on it. Not really, but maybe $1000. It looks really clean.

Ludwig peacock pearl.
I`d say Black Maple natural finnish with 24k gold plated hardware.
I know of only 25 factory kits !!
The funny thing is that the "rare" wraps are rare because nobody liked them when they were being sold, so they didn't make as many of them! Now, 50 years later, some of the same guys who passed right over them love them and are collecting them! The irony of this is hillarious to me. Some of you guys, in your golden drumming years, created your own market and didn't even know you were doing it!Laughing H I guess the same could be applied to many different niche items though........have a wonderful eveningdrumhack Keep on PlGroup HugD' DrummerStorm TrooperStorm Trooper
Your post was 100% on the money. I ordered a Black Diamond Pearl Rogers set in 1961 because no one I saw playing used this color. I stayed away from WMP and Champagne Sparkle during my younger years because all the old guys played those colors. I began to appreciate the "old guy" colors when I became an old guy. I still love the odd ball colors that very few of us wanted back when they were new. Two of my Walberg & Auge kits are factory wrapped in very rare colors. My 1965 set is covered in Salmon Satin Flame. My 1972 set is wrapped in a glass glitter that I have never seen anywhere else. I call it Ice Blue Glass Glitter. My guess is that W&A used a sample batch that the major drum makers chose not to include in their color line up.

I never even heard of that one. Of course after a quick google, Steve Maxwell had an example of it in the flesh! It is a pretty cool idea for a drum wrap!
Here's another example...

those side burns really take me back!
Capri pearl for me.

Your two sets are really at the extremes...for me anyway!!
The "salmon" color is one I just have never liked. To me, it looks wrong on a drum set.
However, your "Ice Blue Glass Glitter" is one of the most stunning colors Ive ever seen on a drum set...it looks Fantastic!!
Sure wish that wrap was available today.
