on a side note, i always wanted a vintage kit to match my classic ride. never got that far though...

the kit also kinda looks like a ludwig standard. never seen a wfl with that material.

anyway, we talked about it today when we met. as for the wrap, if its anything like the modern swirl and serpentine wraps, the color of the wrap is actually on the back of the material that has the pattern on it. so if it was glued down completely, the color will stay on the shell. however, since its really old, you might get lucky were it all comes up at once. either way you'll have to do some sanding.

as for cleaning the hdwr, i have used steel wool at times with no issues even though no one recomends it. but i also mentioned to you simichrome or naval jelly(both i never used but i've seen the results) other have posted their methods like soaking the parts in dish soap or used auto polish/cleaner. i have used TR3 myself. your parts don't look bad so you might wanna try a mild cleaner first.
