Does anyone know what I should ask for this 40s 22" zildjian trans stamp? I payed 499 dollars from hazelshould a couple of years ago. [Attachment: 98592]

A few bits of tape residue underside[Attachment: 98594]
There were factory stickers tags under the bell of the clappers. I seen Drumaholic talk about them, maybe that`s what the tape marks are.

Oh yes around the bell I know, interesting, didn't know that, I meant there are other tape marks on the bottom I'm sure that's not to bad a thing though, this cymbal does sound very nice indeed, but I'm just ' toying with ideas' you know, not sure if I'm going to sell soon. I suppose when you buy from a dealer you pay more or less top whack.
Is it really thick or thin and wobbly ?

It weighed 3100 on scales at post office it wouldn't lay 100% flat on these scales the guy said it would be accurate and I'm sure as I remember from initial description that would be right.
It does have a lot of wobble

Price research and weights: http://black.net.nz/avedis/avedis-prices.html#22
Since that analysis was done I've got a more 22" prices and weights recorded, but I won't be doing another analysis update for some time. I usually like to wait until I've got a sample of 25 sales (to get the estimates to be more stable) but I started on this Avedis Zildjiain work because it seems like some public information is better than no information or guesses and anecdotal evidence. And I stilll haven't finished the smaller diameters.
You also need to take into account the market is a bit different in the UK and Europe. I don't yet have info on just how to calibrate that difference into a model of expected price.
That out of focus picture of your stamp looks like a T4 (the last of the Trans stamps 1952-3). Here's how to tell:

from: http://black.net.nz/avedis/trans4.html#trans4
Hazelshould tends to refer to all Trans stamps as 40s 50s regardless of their subtype. That's what most people seem to do.
Hope this helps.
