hi, I think I have a similar kit, that or its a 58. you say that the bass drum mufflers were gone by 1965? mine has them, so can I assume its from around then? here are some pics

Nice kit. Ringo Starr had the exact same color from memory. I know there is a forum member on here, with a few kits and snares in that finish. That color must of been early 60's to mid 60's, I am only guessing as well.

this finish is was still available in the early 70s and I found it in a catalogue from '63, it has bass drum dampers, I've been told they stopped putting these in around '65.
