Hey Guys,

Have a look at this little beauty that I scored here in oz last year. its pre-international sizes and it came with the royal ace snare. the guy I got it from, purchased it from the original owner around 5 year ago. it still had the original heads reso-batter (I got them) hi hat stand, pedal and snare stand. the guy couldn't find the ride arm to mount it on the kick drum. its a very nice looking kit, I will get around to cleaning the hardware eventually and it will look new.

Hahahaha...yep, they sound very nice Blair. You should see the interiors of the kit. Perfect, no rust on washers, nuts, shells are clean and the bearing edges are perfect. When I get time, I will clean the hardware and polish the wrap. When I get some spare cash, some kangaroo hide heads custom made from kentville drums here in oz.

The original owner purchased them in 1963.

Yeah, the mufflers in the BD is circa 1963-64....not sure if they offered that way earlier though..

By 65...they were gone..My circa 64 kit has them too....

They used a special small badge on the snare in 63....and yours has the normal large one..so I am thinking the kit is closer to 64...you know how old peoples memory gets fuzzy...LOL

Wait a minute...I think they only used the small badge on the 4 by 14.......but went to the larger one in 64....

my 4 by 14 has the larger one...

Could be a 64, but who knows with premier. The orphaned kick, rack and floor that I have are exactly the same as the outfit 54. I only need a hoop for the rack tom and then it can be restored when I have the cash. The hi hat, snare and kick pedal are pretty sturdy as well. I use them for rehearsal and gigs, they never miss a beat. I still wouldn't mind getting my hands on a 2000 snare next.

Nice kit that. You won't go far wrong with a 2000 guys, I've got a couple and get great comments about it everywhere I take it, not sure of the model but I've also got a brushed aluminium snare that the old chap bought new in 73 and that really is an amazing sounding drum
