...BTW..I think your Golden Sun kit is 1973..as far as I know...that Lokfast mount didn't come out till then.....Welcome!

Thanks! That's correct. Here's that '72 Pic (different Holders):

I grabbed a 707 (Superstar in the States) kit out of Craigslist around 2 years ago for $425 to my door! Gloss Black finish...a la Keith Moon..

Kit had around a 1/8" of nicotine on all the shells AND hardware..NASTY!

Heads were shot etc etc..

I cleaned them top to bottom..put all new heads on..then decided kit was taking up too much room..so sold 1 of the 22" BD shells to a Forumite to make a Who tribute kit...

Then,sold the 22,13,16 as a kit....and I STILL have a 8 by 12 and 14 by 14 left..if I could just find that elusive 14 by 20 BD in gloss black..I would have a sweet Jazz kit!

But..all I seem to find from the 70's are 22" :-(

Anyone?

An odd thing about Premier...

I have a pamphlet entitled.."New For 72!"

It mentions they now offer a 9 by 13 tom!

So,if your kit has of those...you know it's at least from 72 onwards...

Why the heck did they wait so long to offer that size?Lame

I just have to chime in one more time to say this, I love your drums! Saw some blue Premeires at the Chicago show last week, didnt even ask how much, I knew I couldnt come close to affording them.

Thank you!

...Is the wrap plastic based or metal. It looks like brushed metal and it's really classy. Thanks for sharing,-Tim

Hi Tim,

It's a thin Metal based Wrap which Premier categorized as 'Metalised' Finish. Offered in 'Golden Sun and 'Silver Star'.

The guys here are probably sick of me saying this but I think Premier had a brilliant artistic design aesthetic. Their Lokfast stand design is the only elegantly designed cymbal/drum mounting apparatus ever made as a production design as far as I am aware. Truly pieces of art. Everything else is just chromed tubes and band steel that serve the purpose. On top of that, their chrome work was second to none. Premier drums also sounded great.

The work you did on that kit is just fantastic. Thanks for posting!
