Here are the pics of my modification (result: plus 6"/ 15.5 cm more height of the rack tom positions). Please note: there are only added parts used. None of them leaded to a modifying of the genuine parts. So everything can be reset and put back into the original status of the drumset.
I needed two additional tom arms plus one of the connecting parts (the angle adjustment) in between them.
1. I modified each tom arm at the bottom section to match into each half of the angle part. Done with a small saw and a fine metal rasp.
2. Made one hole into the arm and put a wing nut and a screw through arm and one bracket half to fix both together.
3. On the top of the extra arm nothing had to be done: the insert of the tom arm goes into the angle bracket as it 'normally' should do.
Same with the extra half of the angle bracket at the bottom: fits automatically over the original tom arm(which goes at it's bottom into the bass drum).
4. At least I wanted to add a cymbal arm between the rack toms.
So I mounted the prolonged tom arms onto the bass drum, put the rack toms into their final (!) position onto it and then, additionally, I put holes into the arms to fix the plate with the cymbal holder bracket at the arms.
5. Result: a stable construction, sturdy, and never needing to do again the time-consuming procedure to find the right angle of the rack toms' position any more.
The height of each tom cannot be changed now ... unless I take the cymbal holder construction away. But there's no need for me to do that anymore!
Again: if I take all added parts off, I have the original Outfit 303 again.
