Pearl wood / fiberglass in red oyster

Yes billnvick

those drums on the bay are the very same kit for which i started this thread

The seller's "cousin" must have had some sudden change of heart on them

They were really out of sort with the stencil drum kits i have collected anyway

It was the color that interested me more than the wood /fiberglass popularity

or the 16"18" fts

Best they go where they will be better apprieciated $$

Bill, they look like the gorgeous set you have on ebay. These have the hex style tom holder rods, though. 12, 13, 16, 22. The bearing edges are good. The wrap is scratched up in areas, but not peeling. There is also some fading/discoloration and what looks like some paint overspray that I couldn't polish off. I have the front hoop for the bass. The COB snare did not come with. I picked that up somewhere else. The kit came with a cheap, made-in-China Tama 14x5 COS. I am only missing one spur, one claw and a couple proper tom holder tensioners. The bass pedal is era correct but has a busted frame. More hardware is one era cymbal stand that is good and one non era correct Pearl Speed Pedal hi hat stand. I'm guessing that the hat stand is early 60's, but I'd like to know from you expert types. Sold the conga that came with it this morning for $40. That puts my initial cost down to $105. I've got at least that in it for replacement lugs, tension rods, bottom heads etc. Please excuse the mess in the photos. I was excited to replace the little mahogany bebop kit with the 18" bass. The 22" fiberglass is very low and immediate. No mellowing of mahogany, just a heavy, jack-boot kick to the gizzard. Mmmm!Bill, if you have a spur for me drop me a note at chris_lekan AT hotmail DOT com

i have a original set of those i bought in 1976 and everything seems correct bass pedal is right except thats not the era hihat stand mine matches that bass pedal and my cymbal stands are single brace and have white plastic inserts for the tubes nice to see what they look like in blue mine are jet black

Sheddski, you are correct about the hardware. I bought my set new in 1973-74 with the hardware that matches the stuff you got. My set is wood shell, though. I lost the hi hat stand years ago after it broke in some way, but still use the snare and cymbal stands and the bass pedal for practice kit. Here's a recent photo of some of the pieces with a mixed kit in my son's room a couple years back.

Wow, your Pearls look almost mint. I am impressed.

I have all of the original stands that came with mine. A SD stand, HH stand, 2 cymbal stands, and the BD pedal. The stands are all single-braced tri-pods and have the white nylon bushings. All in great working condition. The only thing I'm missing from down through the years is the original HH clutch with the white felts.

Hey, that floor tom is a valuable one! It looks mint, too!

Bill, here's a photo of them brand new (and me pretty brand new too!). I've held on to them all these years. And my then-drum-teacher convinced me and my parents to invest in cases. Good man. They are in excellent shape. I also have the 10-lug snare. And the six-lug floor tom, which was actually from a lower Pearl line but as a kid I didn't notice it at the time when we bought it from the local music store. Which is why I use the Clubdate floor tom when I play the kit out.
