Too bad Dule. It looked like a nice kit. I'm sure there are more to be had though. :)

Osaka:Can you explane diferencies betwen badges in catalog pic you post and fotos of that Tiger eye?On fotos looks to be latter badge or maybe were in the same time manufactured with diferent badges?Drumers dream:3 more days,he measured 60cm(24") bass drum, but I am not shure it is ok,mavbe he measured side with the hoop and it is 22 plus hoop.Good news is that it comes with set of Dixie Switzerland cymbals
They did make 24" bass drums, and even 18" floor toms in the early/mid 70s. I have found an Apollo kit in St Louis that had 13-14-15mt/16-18ft and a 24" bass, all Pearl shells and some of the Star hardware. This one kit I found was a transition kit from the time Star was exiting the stencil world and Pearl was assuming the contracts for the St. Louis Music Supply stencil lines.
That's wonderful -you've even got the matching hihat stand and pedal- right on!That's a very nice Pearl stencil you've got there. Here's mine- I have the tom mounted on a stand in this shot but I have the same 1 into 2 mount as the catalog. Mine is a 69 Not to hi jack Dule's thread, but I am still wondering weather my kit, and yours are essentially the same kit, just different badges? Did Pearl just have an assembly line, and depending on the day, some kits were badged Pearl, and some got shipped out? You have some fantastic kits Osaka. Yes Sir I wish they were as plentiful here in N.S..
Yes, Pearl main and stencil lines were all built in the same line, and used identical parts and shells. I have tried time and time to explain how this works. Let's say you are a small business and you want to buy widgets with your name on them and they are the same as everyone else's, but you want your name on it. You go to the manufacturer, not the distributor, and you go and say "Mr Manufacturer, I want green widgets." He says, "Mr Buyer, that's great, but first, we need to make them yours. Here is a menu of parts and options, please place a check mark next to the parts you want and we will make them with your name printed right on top". You: "Mr Manufacturer, I want mine with 4 stilts and 8 liners with a 2 heads on each and my company logo right here". In the alotted amount of time, your new widget comes along in neat little boxes and say "Drumdreams Widgets Finest in the World"....make sense? I was in manufacturing and understand how it woks, so it is easy for me to explain.

Ok, I get it Jonni. I have seen so many differences in options of actual "Pearl" sets, and I always thought that maybe the "Pearl", and stencils were made in different factories.

Hi,I find another Pearl set in white pearl,22-12-13-16,with lots of parts missing, double tom holder, all t-rods and claws from front and one or two t-rod and claw on batter side.Seller information is that the inside of the drum is gray.Found something similar as Thunder king set(as we were discussed on my thread on Pearl tiger eye wrap). It is mentioned in catalog that it is 9-ply shell construction. What it can be?Lauan or something diferent?
Thanks!
Forget to attach a picture of these Pearl set
I have a tiger eye set that I use with a jazz sextet. It a bit brighter than the some of the photos I've seen. It's Pearl, and Whitehall (a private label of Pearl?) Most of the hardware is pearl, and pieces have come from many different places; took about three years or more to find these and repair and refurbish them. I also have a Whitehall tiger eye 20" bass drum...matching the pictured set. The 20" has been paired with a vintage Reuther tom which I've spray painted to more closely match the tiger eye, and a Pearl mirror finish snare and other hardware/cymbals. Over about 5 years, I've refurbished or rebuilt 7 kits; before that, repaired and refurbished 19 timpani put together as 3 sets of 4; set of 2; and one single.
I don't want sound insulting or insult vintage Pearl drums- but as an owner of several of these late 60s/early 70s Pearl kits- 975$ is quite over-priced- especially without the matching snare. I cannot see any logo badges in your photos of the kit- unfortunately that lowers the value as well. An interior shot of the shell material would also be essential to make a sale to any savvy buyer. If they are luan shelled- then I think you could ask 300$USD tops (they look clean and solid) if they are dark brown President phenolic fiber-glass then you could ask 500$USD if they are luan with an inner ply of maple (this was done in the later models- 73-75 then you might ask up to 400$
At 975$ buyers could buy a vintage Ludwig or Slingerland drum set of a similar vintage if they shop carefully. Best of luck with it- it is a lovely wrap:2Cents:
