Wow! What an incredible kit! And, you picked them up at the Niles plant? How cool is that?!!!

First, I just need to mention that this should probably be moved to the vintage drums section, since your trying to get help with pricing. Listing it here in the For Sale section assumes that you are posting a price.

That being said, this is going to be tough to price in today's soft market. What it might be worth and what you can realistically expect to get for them are two different things!

I'm going to throw out a figure, of the top of my head, of $3500. That's what I THINK your kit is worth, but NOT what you can probably get for them. Let's see what others have to say as soon as they see this thread!

Forgot to mention about the 14" and 15" toms. Are they both 10" deep? I believe a 10x14 was standard, but the 15" came in both 10" and 12" depths. I always felt that the 15x12 was too deep, but looked great as a 10" depth when combined with the 14" tom.

Beautiful kit...Wow! You don't see something like that everyday!.

As far as value....That's up to you, really. But, practically speaking....It's one of those kits that everyone wants to look at, but few people will purchase due to the space requirements. It's no help that configuration isn't associated with anyone famous, either. It might be one of those things that would be of interest to someone like Steve Maxwell. I'd definitely contact him to get his opinion.

I tried that on my show white sling kit but shipping was crazy expensive, no one wanted to pay to ship it ( cant blame them)

forgot to say I converted the 20" floor tom to a bass drum simply by replacing the rims with hoops, easy to change back to a floor tom, but it sounds killer as a bass, plus who gigs these days with a 20" floor? LOL

perhaps someone can turn my picture around, it was not like that when I copied it.

I would say to break it up into two sets and try to sell the single-headed concert toms separately.

I wish you luck, but I think you're going to have an extremely hard time selling that as a full set. There are just too many drums. I can't think of one drummer, outside of Terry Bozzio, who uses that many drums at a time. They're simply too much to carry. Most drummers have neither the room to set them up, nor the transportation to haul them around. Sorry to be a downer, but that's my opinion. These days, four and five piece sets are the norm once again.

BTW, I'd be interested in that Slingerland banner.

I remember seeing those at the drum show when it was still in St Charles. You had a booth next to Gary (jahog), I missed meeting you but did meet Gary.

I have to agree with Drumbob here, simply because I have been trying to sell a huge kit like that and I am not having any luck. In fact just tonight I took down my add on Facebook because I cant hardly give it away. So for me the fun of playing it is more valuable than the few hundred bucks I could get for it. But then again my drums are Ludwig rockers, yours are Slingerlands in perfect condition so yours should be much more desirable and worth much more. So give it a try and see what happens. To me, I would probably pay around 2K if I had room for them, but thats just my opinion. Good luck!
