Not faded Gold Sparkle then... :) Great job restoring this beauty, it really looks stunning. I wouldn't use original heads on that for playing, it'd be a shame to ruin them. There are alternatives: I believe there are Aquarian and Ambassador heads made specially for vintage drums - that way, you can still have that vintage sound but with a modern head :)

well she is all finished and was to much fun....I went with ambassador single ply coated head and ambassador bottom head....finished pics are at link and thanks all for following and the help....glad I was referred to this cool site...Karma Gods sent me this drum..I had quit teaching,playing and recording and roused up my interest..time to get chops going again..

I use liquid Turtle car wax on my Phonics. Works well to protect too. Beeswax interior as well.
