That is a very nice bass drum and would be a great bass for any WFL or Ludwig set. Sorry if I sounded harsh..

Didn't take it in anyway except you where thirst for the knowledge of your drum, that's what were here for to learn from and educate each other, here is a 1954 Wfl 14x26" shell I'm working as we type!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

That thing is amazing! I am a big fan of 24 and 26. Please start a post of your work on it!

One more question as well.

So were there badges that said "Ludwig" and badges that said "WFL" that would be stamped 1954?

The badg that you WFL had is the 1955-1959 badge look it up on this link, if that is the year the stamp date stated then it's a wfl not a ludwig,! your badge is the 11th one down in the WFL column. http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/ludwig_badges.html I'm at a cross road as to what I'm going to do with this 26" bass drum either stain it again, or wrap it!

Right on I was just there and trying to determine which one between the 55-59 you just said and mid 60's. Then it dawned on me that the 60's would have been painted white inside as well! So I guess WFL is the one! Sweet!

I will take that 26" off your hands if you like!!! What would you have to have for it?

I'm trying to get a 26" off of Kevins, to match it with this one, sorry it's not for sale this is a zephyr lug model not a classic lug model as is kevins! I'm building a 26" wfl bass,10x14" not sure which one yet mounted tom,, floor tom 16x16" leedy and 18x20" slingerland floor tom kit! I wanted to paint it duco silver and gold but can't find anyone to do it, to much involved to get it painted so I'll probably wrap them all., don't know which color yet, I've about had them all! take a LOOK at this link to see what a zephyr lug looks like! http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/ludwig_snaredrums/1941_wfl_snaredrum7.jpg
