New Stamp Old Ks

When I bought the cymbal there were no rivets present. Its actually difficult to find rivets that have a small enough diameter to fit the holes. So right now I only have one rivet hat fits. Id love to try installing rivets in all the holes. If anyone knows a source for very small diameter shafts on the rivets please let me know.

I have lots of sound files of me playing the cymbal since it has been my main ride for years. Ill try to remember to make a recording of the cymbal alone.

Bosphorus Cymbals USA used to sell small copper rivets as an accessory item. I'm not sure if they still do or whether they will fit. They had a pretty small diameter though. Perhaps you can contact them.

Maybe not Home Depot or Lowe's, but a siding or gutter vendor and maybe roofing vendor or even a lumber yard that sells siding, they come in all different sizes and materials like Stainless, Copper, brass, steel Aluminum ect. I got tons of them floating around the bottom of my tool box. I have a Zildjian drilled for 8 and basic siding and roofing

1/8" rivets fit nice. 1/4 fit but very tight.

They come in all different sizes and thicknesses and head shapes. The pop rivets will have hollow shafts.

"they still get it wrong"..

Advertised as Intermediate all over the ad.

And, it's a New Stamp. ie Sound difference; kept listening for a 3000g Intermediate (shape & characteristic) ; wasn't there; then I noticed the stamp pics. no wonder

~~~~~
here's another one. ex- Talking Head cymbal advertised as "56-57".
hmm. Looks -in weak pics of stamp- looks like a New Stamp era
Have to think he had Avedis Co. or somebody............buff these. And look at the exquisite NS weights.. ah.. Elvin..
720 and 880 grams. What a Guy. I swear these could be well be the hats he used all thru the later years with the Yamaha sets. You could see the hats; but couldn't tell; if they were old K or Avedis Ks. Because they were so shiny/bright.
Aha.
That's some Slick sht right there. Disregarding the price. But just as cymbals...
Indeed.... and in a new stamp, that weight prescription... we all have 'close'.. that is right on the money.
Someone knows who buffed those ( could have been Sabian, Avedis Co, heck even Istanbul on a good day...
PaulF might know or heard something...
I can see Keiko bringing them in, directly into the back company rooms, and saying " for Elvin, we want shiny, Clean. "..
